About my family and I,
I have been happliy married to my husband Bryan for 18 yrs and counting. We are a great team and are so very happy together. He supports me in everything I do. He has been a great Father, and a excellent provider and hubby. Bryan has been at his place of employment for for 17 yrs in road construction . He also runs his own business called Varney Excavation.
He loves Alaska and wants to travel there again some day. He has a passion for taking wildlife photography. He also enjoys bird watching & Astronomy, texas holdem, and likes helping stray animals. Bryan will be at the family events to support our families.
My son Matthew is 10 yrs old and has Spinal Muscular Atrophy (form of M.D.), and was diagnosed at 1 yrs old. He has never rolled over, crawled, or walked. He Has always been compromised respiratory wise. He has a very weak cough and colds can be life threatening to him. He wears a back brace, ankle braces, and has been driving an electric chair since he was three.
Matthew loves computers and his game cube. We are very thankful that he does communicate and is a very bright young boy. He’s very silly and a big time jokester. He’s always full of life and never down on his M.D. To learn more about my son Matthew go to: www.our-sma-angels.com/matthew
I am also a very proud mother to Whitney Elaine, She has always been an awesome big sister for Matthew. She’s recorded a music C.D. for Families Together. One of the songs on the C.D. is about her brother Matthew! It is very inspiring! She’s been a straight A Honor Student and a well grounded girl. Whitney sings on the worship team for church, and is very involved with dancing and singing in the theater. She is looking forward to going to college some day. She is a wonderful daughter and we are so proud of her!!!!
My son Matthew and my sister Kathi are both my inspiration behind my effortswith MD Family Fun. Kathi, She is 40 yrs old and has C.P. She is very special to me. Her smile and attitude is contagious! She is an awesome happy person. I have become a better person being her sis and living with her all of my life.
I just so happen to be an obsessive, protective mommy toward both of my children. I am a country girl and do not like the city. I Love to cook, garden, and visit with friends and family. I like painting, drawing, and taking pictures!!! I enjoy the simple things in life and don’t care about materialistic things or money. Good news is always better than bad. I enjoy life! My husband, children, & extended family complete me....
I love to do research on M.D. and other disorders, and finding helpful resources to share with others in need. I am very interested in Respiratory Therapy and advocating for my son and others. I’m passionate about all children, teens and adults with all disabilities. I am excited to see where M.D. Family Fun will lead! I am very excited to meet more families. If you have any questions or concerns call me anytime. Thank you for all of your support! I’m looking forward to getting to know all of you, see you soon!!!
Website has been up since March 2008. I am still editing and adding many new things and still learning how to build this website. Please check back often as there will be many changes.
Sincerely,
