                 Welcome to,  M.D. Family Fun!

We are an activity group for families with Muscular Dystrophy. M.D. Family Fun will provide companionship, resources, equipment, friendship, and awesome  family activities throughout the year. The activities planned are for children and teens with physical limitations and various disabilities. We encourage  their friends and family, caregivers, grandparents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, and parents to participate. We are  mainly a Muscular Dystrophy based group, but everyone is welcome to our big events and some of our activity groups several throughout  the  year.

I believe it is important for families with special needs to bond with others they can relate to. Focusing on what our kids CAN do is  very important. We believe trying new things and having positive experiences can build self esteem, confidence, and renew hope.

I will direct and run the Mom’s monthly support group and childrens activity groups. Family members from our group  also volunteer  time to help out . We are very small and have only been running since December of 2008. We are  also working towards  becoming a non profit organization. We have about 60 members, including parents, children, and our volunteers  all put together.

Future events will include: weekend family camp outs, wheelchair skate days, boys hangout,  girls spa day, astronomy star parties, cooking classes, monthly moms support,  family photography, parents night, sledding days, art classes, remote control  car racing, talent shows, family baseball,  nature hikes, boating,  Fundraising, bird watching, dads poker night and much more in the works. See services for a list of awesome activities to come.

Check out the resource page for additional special needs info and helpful websites. We have a small  equipment closet where you can get special needs items. There will be adaptive toys and recreational sport items and special needs equipment available to loan out for free to MDFF members. I am so happy to be helping others and I look forward to meeting you all.

You may also see our  wish list page for some ways to help. Call If  you are interested in volunteering your time, space or facility, or donationing.

Sincerely, Stephanie Varney
